Absent: Heather Duval, Heather Turcotte, Steve Korby, Tracy Larsen

Review and Approval of July 2009 Meeting Minutes:

Under Professional Development, "SWAT" analysis should be "SWOT". With this correction, the July 2009 minutes were approved.

Treasurer's Report (Pam Grover): Treasurer reports were approved.

College Relations (Heather Duval absent)

Community Involvement (Tracy Larsen and Steve Korby absent)

Diversity (Linda Olcott): Linda had nothing to report at this time.

HRCI Certification (Kathy Chalupsky): Kathy had nothing to report at this time.

Membership (Terri McGillvrey):

  • State Conference in 2010: Terri toured the Rochester facility. The theme for the state conference, being held in Duluth, is "HR Building Bridges to Success". They're working on guest speakers. One of the topics being targeted for the conference is wellness and so they're discussing a walk one of the mornings of the conference.
  • State Conference in 2009: Looking for a volunteer from Duluth NHRA to promote the 2010 state conference (being held in Duluth) at the state conference in 2009.
  • Basket for the State Conference in 2009: Hold off on the basket because they may not do the baskets this year. Laurie Pinther had volunteered to put the basket together and will wait until we find out more.

Legislative and Government Affairs (Wayne Lindberg): Nothing to report at this time.

Marketing (Patricia Stolee): Sent the "Save the Date" for the fall NHRA conference.

Professional Development (Laurie Pinther):

  • Schedules are in place for October, November, and December.
  • The fall conference planning is going according to plan.

Workforce Readiness (Judy Aspling): Judy will be participating in a webinar on workforce readiness.

New Business:

  • SHRM National Conference: Each year, the board will discuss how many people from NHRA should be sent to the national conference. The board will vote on this issue next month when we know what was spent last year.
  • Wayne requested the electronic version of succession planning. Current board members are asked to send Wayne requests: do you want to stay in your current position, are you interested in a different position, and do you have any ideas who to recruit for the board?

Adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
