Sexual Harassment: What Everyone Needs to Know

Attendees will learn the following:

  • What is sexual harassment under the law?
  • Discussion on hostile environment and quid pro quo harassment - attendees will learn about characteristics of sexual harassment, third-party harassment, retaliation, and other forms of abusive behavior.
  • This presentation will help educate the public on sexual harassment in the workplace. It will also help employees recognize what kind of behavior is not appropriate in the workplace and how each individual can contribute to an atmosphere that is better for everyone. Managers will learn how to help prevent harassment in the workplace and steps for responding promptly and appropriately if a problem occurs. Finally, employers will be given tools to help ensure the workplace is free from any types of harassment including those sexual in nature.

This event is free and open to the public. It will be held at City Hall, Room 303 on January 18, 2018 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The media is invited to attend and learn more about this timely topic.
