Regardless of whether recreational marijuana is legalized in Minnesota in 2020 or 2021, marijuana is already a factor in employment decisions. Medicinal marijuana is a protected activity in Minnesota, and employers are prohibited from discriminating against users. How should employers handle marijuana? Should we even test for it? This session will go through common situations.

At the end of this presentation participants will be able to:

  • Understand the risks associated with employment decisions impacted by marijuana.
  • Gain strategies to handle drug testing for marijuana.
  • Learn alternative approaches to discipline if an employee comes to work high.
