College Mentorship - Make a Difference!

What is the College Mentorship Program? It’s an amazing program through the NHRA that connects college students pursing a degree in Human Resource (HR) with HR professionals in the community. How cool is that?!

What is the purpose? Provide students with a real life HR experience out of the classroom, as well as a networking experience! Each student is matched with a mentor based on HR areas of interest. As many of us know being a mentor also helps us see our own gifts, learn new things, and possibly get some extra work done!

What is the expectation: Mentors are asked to spend at minimum 1-2 hours a month between the end of January – the beginning of May with the mentee assigned to them. Actives may include but are not limited to; job shadowing, reviewing resumes, mock interviewing, attending a job fair, attending an NHRA/educational meeting, or other special projects/tasks.

Are you interested in making a difference?

Please email Mariah Montero (College Relations Director).

"Since I go to an online program, networking is difficult. I attend NHRA meetings regularly, but I was wanting to do more. The mentorship program has been an amazing experience. My mentor gave me a lot of good advice, set me up to network where I would have never been able to before, and was truly interested in my success. I could not have asked for a better mentor. This program has helped me immensely and it was fun!!!"
